This year's Inov-8 Ayhope Skyline fell race took place in perfect conditions in and around a crowded Hamsterley Forest that saw horse-riders, orienteers and fell runners all competing for space within a few hundred metres of each other.

Although it was a relatively small field of 25 runners that lined up at the start (despite the event being the culmination of the Inov-8 Durham Dales Fell Challenge Series) the course provided a fast race over a variety of terrain including forest roads, tracks and open fell.

You don't have to be a 'fell' runner to enjoy this one; in good weather it's a great race for anyone who fancies a change from pounding the roads and as in all DFR races a bottle of beer awaits all finishers!
