Kens Bob Graham Round success.

Well done Ken Maynard for completing the Bob Graham Round in a very fast time of 20 hours and 38 minutes.

Orienteering Evening.

For second year running we will stage an 'O' event on the Thursday Night of 26th July. Patrick and Stu are the course planners so we are in for a treat I am sure. 2 courses one for Familes and unders 18's and the other a standard event. 1 hour score type. Drinks and biccies at finish. Spot prizes. Meet as usual 1900 at Hamster Visitor Centre. Under 18 free, A small fee for over 18's will be made around £3.00 depends on what maps are used. All funds to DFR.

DFR Mens Team win at Saltwell Harriers Fell Race.

July 3rd tuesday night a window of nice weather in the rain saw a record 70+ runners take to the hills above Stanhope. Well done Steve, Graham and Noel winning the mens team prize against competition from Borrowdale and NFR. A good turn out from DFR on the night. Lets see if we can get a similar turn out for Gribdale Gallop, Forest Burn and Falstone Falcon.

DFR Race Update.

24.06.2007 - The 2nd handicap race was run around the forest after some heavy rain, but all seemed to enjoy the day as can be seen on John Howells photo website http://community.webshots.com/user/johnbh100, I would let you know the results but as they are in handicap format I reallly am lost off as to whom is where. Contact Gerry or view the FRA Website for info. On the same day Ray, Graham and Lizzie travelled up to complete the Windy Gyle race, they all thoroughly enjoyed the route with results and pics on the new and very impressive NFR Website. Chapel Fell Race June 3rd with perfect conditions , a fine run from Will Horsley of NFR just missed out on course record. Graham Burns of DFR 2nd home with DFR's Denise Tunstall 1st lady. DFR Handicap Race 2 on June 24th. The Handicap 2 Race is followed by a Barbie, all are welcome contact Gerry for details. Handicap race 1 was won by NFR runner Will Horsley followed by DFR members Graham Burns and Tim Makin with first lady runner home DFR's Jan Young. Full results on FRA Site. Cronkley Fell was won by Adam Haynes of Merrionydd, 2nd was Ian Rothbotham of Harrogate with DFR's Andy Minster 3rd, First Lady was DFR's Denise Tunstall. Results on trailguides.co.uk. Note: DFR website is going through some construction work this summer so results and gallery will be closed for a while.

DFR Mens Team win at Giz Moors 2007.

With hot competition from North York Moors and NFR...crackin' runs from Carl, Ken, Paul and Andy won the team prize for DFR, good runs also from John and Denise. Well done to all.

Doctors Gate 2007

A big thank you to Gerry and all the supporters, fine weather and looks as if everyone enjoyed the new route. The race pictures and results will NOT be on the DFR website but on..... Pictures are on John Howells excellent site http://community.webshots.com/user/johnbh100 . Results will be posted on www.fellrunning.org.uk and www.fellrunner.org.uk . Well done to all DFR racers particularly 'top of the class' performances from Carl [ First overall ] and Jen [ First lady ].

DFR announce 2 new RACE SERIES for 2007/2008

To showcase the Durham Dales DFR announce a number of new races for 2007 and beyond. DFR START FITNESS SERIES. The Doctors Gate Race on 1st April will be the first in the 2007 series on a new course with new sponsors - START FITNESS of Durham. This will be followed by Top of the Forest on 16th Sept, Ayhope Skyline on 30th December - a Christmas Cracker and finally spilling into 2008 Black Hill and Beck on 27th Jan. DFR HANDICAP SERIES. Four races over the same route during the summer. Full details of all the races DFR support can be found in the calendar page.

DFR AGM 2007

DFR AGM 2007 will be held after the Doctors Gate Race on 1st April. It is important that as many members attend as possible. It is your club, you can make a difference to the future success of a growing group of enthusiasts. Please contact Gerry.
