Race Calendar 2009

The Calendar lists races or other events, which may be of interest to DFR members. DFR have recently received a number of enquiries and comments concerning the Durham Trail/Fell Race series, which has held a number of events in and around Hamsterley Forest during 2009. We understand that a scheduled race in the FRA Calendar was recently cancelled. For information and the avoidance of doubt we would like to emphasise that DFR has no connection whatsoever with these races and, contrary to the information supplied in the FRA Calendar, does not endorse them or receive any form of payment in connection with these races. Any queries/complaints regarding the races should be addressed to the organiser of the events, who is named in the FRA Calendar.

DFR will, however, be organising a fell race in 2010. The event will be held on Sunday 27th June over Cronkley Fell in Teesdale. This is the first race that Durham Fell Runners have organised as a Club. The entry fee will be £4.50 which includes a free chip butty for all finishers. Any profit will be donated to local charities and the emphasis will be on a well run, enjoyable event, organised by fell runners for other enthusiasts in the time honoured tradition of fell running .
